Wat Ek Phnom
Wat Ek Phnom
Wat Ek Phnom is one of Battambang Province’s most fascinating historical attractions, located about 13 kilometers north of Battambang city. Built in the 11th century during the Angkor period, this ancient temple is known for its beautiful stone carvings, impressive architecture, and peaceful atmosphere.
Although parts of the temple are now in ruins, visitors can still admire its intricate details and experience the rich history of the Khmer Empire. Near the ancient temple stands a modern Buddhist pagoda and a large white Buddha statue, creating a unique blend of Cambodia’s past and present.
Surrounded by picturesque countryside, rice fields, and traditional villages, Wat Ek Phnom offers visitors a chance to explore Cambodia’s cultural heritage while enjoying the beauty of rural Battambang.
Whether you are interested in history, architecture, photography, or local culture, Wat Ek Phnom is a wonderful destination and one of Battambang’s must-visit landmarks.
