Overview

Kampong Phluk Floating Village

Discover the authentic beauty of Kampong Phluk, one of the most fascinating floating villages on Tonlé Sap Lake. Located about 30 km from Siem Reap, this traditional fishing community is famous for its tall stilt houses, which rise up to 10 meters (33 feet) above the ground to adapt to the lake’s changing water levels.

Take a boat ride through peaceful canals lined with mangrove forests and experience the daily life of local families who have lived on the lake for generations. During the wet season, the flooded forest becomes a magical waterway where you can paddle through the tranquil surroundings in a small rowing boat.

Kampong Phluk offers a unique opportunity to learn about Cambodia’s culture, traditional fishing lifestyle, and the importance of Tonlé Sap Lake—the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia.
