Preah Vihear Temple is one of Cambodia’s most spectacular ancient temples, dramatically situated on a cliff in the Dangrek Mountains near the Cambodia–Thailand border. Built between the 9th and 12th centuries by successive Khmer kings, the temple was primarily dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.

Unlike the temples of Angkor, Preah Vihear is arranged along a 800-meter north–south axis and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Cambodian plains below. The temple is renowned for its exquisite carvings, impressive stairways, and remarkable hilltop setting.

Koh Ker Temple Group ( ticket 15$ per person) 

Located about 120 km northeast of Siem Reap, Koh Ker was the capital of the Khmer Empire during the reign of King Jayavarman IV (928–944 AD). The archaeological site contains more than 180 temples and monuments spread across a vast forested area.

The highlight of Koh Ker is Prasat Thom, a unique seven-tier pyramid rising above the surrounding jungle. Other notable temples include Prasat Pram, Prasat Krahom, and Prasat Damrei, each showcasing remarkable Khmer architecture and history.
